Description
A rare flush mount by Lisa Johansson-Papé for Orno. This model 71-116 which came in three different sizes, this is the middle one with a diameter just approx 40cm. The lamp consists of a round shaped white opaline glass shade fixed to a metal base with three light sources and crowned with a decorative brass wire. The lamp is in its original condition and is stamped ORNO to the inside.
Lisa Johansson-Pape´ was one of the most important light designers in the world and one of the most influential designers in Finland. After designing furnitures for Stockmann in the 1930s, she moved to lighting designs also for the Stockmann owned company Orno in the 1940s. Some of her lamp designs are still being manufactured today by Innojoki and Keraplast.
Lisa won a number of awards for her lighting designs including a gold medal at the 1954 Milan Triennale. -
