Description
Large French brass palm tree floor lamp, style of Maison Jansen
French, 20th Century
Height 166cm, diameter 61cm
This very eye-catching floor lamp is crafted in the style of late 20th century pieces by Maison Jansen. They were one of the leading Parisian interior design houses of the previous century.
The lamp is fully crafted from brass, the gilt surface beautifully shining in both daylight and when illuminated by the light coming from under the palm leaves. A round malachite base supports the lamp, its vibrant patterned surface giving the illusion of grass which might surround a palm tree in the natural habitat.
Attention-grabbing palm tree lamps such as the one in Mayfair Gallery’s collection were sold by Maison Jansen in the 1960s/70s and today continue to be a popular and desirable addition to interior spaces.
This bold and bright floor lamp is a superb piece of home décor and a fine testament to the legacy of one of the great design houses of the past one hundred years. - More Information
