Pair of Mid-Century Segmented Amber Bakelite & Brushed Chrome Floor Lamps

This elegant Pair of Mid-Century Segmented Amber Bakelite & brushed Chrome Floor Lamps originated in the United States, 20th Century. Each lamp rises from a low stepped circular chrome base to a vertical column composed of five turned amber Bakelite segments separated by brushed chrome collars. The stacked ovoid modules create a rhythmic sculptural silhouette that balances warm translucent tones against cool metal finishes. A slim chrome shaft extends upward to the socket cluster where a contemporary custom black fabric drum shade lined in white softly diffuses light. These floor lamps exemplify Mid-Century Modern balance through simple geometry and tactile contrasts between Bakelite and chrome, while the amber material lends a honeyed glow when illuminated. Placed beside seating or a reading nook, they provide focused illumination and sculptural presence that complements mid-century and contemporary interiors alike. Each fixture accepts one Edison-base bulb offering 100 watts of light and the removable shades allow straightforward service and styling variations. Very Good vintage condition, these pieces have been rewired to US standards.
