Description
This pair of handblown Murano glass table lamps are in the form of 17.5"H tall eggs with a lace-like layer of opaque white glass over clear glass. They sit squarely on a tabletop, or a floor, as the electrical cords protrude near the lower edges. They accept light bulbs up to 60 watts, which can be changed easily through the open bottoms. This unusully decorated pair of egg lamps are attributed to Venini although the original stick-on labels have fallen off.
The lacey pattern is attractive when lit, as well as being rare for an egg lamp. The artistry of the lamps makes a statement even during the day. They will add interest to bedside tables, or in the living area, or as welcoming beacons in the foyer or a window. They are large enough to be used on the floor in a clever way. -
