This sleek and dynamic Mid-Century Modernist Articulating "Orbiter" Floor Lamp in Chrome by Robert Sonneman originates from the United States, Circa 1970. Features a slender composition rendered in tubular polished chrome elements, beautifully balanced and fitted to work together achieving this brilliant and versatile piece. Featuring a rounded half dome shade in polished chrome housing the bulb, supported by a straight chrome rod with a textural handle that articulates on a hinge connected to the curved arm attached to the body of the piece. The body rests on a flat cylindrical base, well weighted to support the piece and allow for easy use and articulation. Stunningly designed and an excellent example of Mid-Century Modernist materials and design sensibility, this piece will style well in a wide array of spaces and settings from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal Interiors.
