Description
Roberto Pamio & Renato Toso’s designs often combine clear lines with a refined play of material and light. This table lamp, produced by Leucos in Italy, exemplifies their collaborative approach to contemporary lighting design.
Design
The lamp features a bold, tiered Murano glass shade with alternating soft blue and amber-colored filigrana stripes. These delicate lines spiral across the surface, following the lamp’s beehive-shaped contour. Its blown glass construction catches and diffuses light evenly when switched on, producing a warm, atmospheric glow. The shade rests on a round, brushed aluminum base, which anchors the form with minimal distraction. An original Leucos label remains intact on the glass. The electric cord exits discreetly from the base and is manually operated via a switch. Inside, the lamp uses a standard E27 fixture, offering compatibility with a wide range of bulbs. Pamio & Toso’s ability to create harmony between form and light is clearly visible here, where ornament and function are balanced in a single continuous volume.
A sculptural object by day and ambient light source by night, this piece subtly transforms its surroundings. It reflects the era’s technical innovation and aesthetic restraint.
Condition
This lamp is in good vintage condition. The base shows some minor signs of wear. -
