Staff Cobra table lamp by Masayuki Kurokawa, 1970

Description
This Cobra table lamp, designed by Japanese designer Msayuki Kurokawa in the 1970s, is in very good condition. The flexible, yellow rubberized arm with its ribbed texture gives the lamp its distinctive shape. The rubberized arm and base, which houses the switch, are also in excellent condition. The black lacquered metal base and the metal shade show minimal signs of wear.

This lamp was designed by Kurokawa in the typical futuristic Space Age style and reflects the direction in which design was developing, not only in Japan. The German lighting manufacturer Staff has been shaping design development in the lighting sector for 80 years and continues to surprise with an exceptional combination of functionality and aesthetics.
