Description
This rare table lamp was designed by Stig Johnsson and produced by Smålandsslöjd in Värnamo, Sweden, during the 1970s. The lamp retains its original manufacturer’s stamp to the underside of the base.
The sculptural base is crafted from solid pine wood, formed from a vertical sequence of softly rounded spheres in varying proportions. The organic silhouette, combined with the expressive natural grain of the pine, lends the lamp a distinctly Scandinavian modern character—both playful and architectural.
The lamp is fitted with a custom cylindrical shade, newly made in off-white pure linen by Loro Piana, selected for its subtle texture and its natural harmony with the warmth of the pine wood base.
The lamp is in very good vintage condition, showing a gentle, natural patina consistent with age. The shade has been renewed. It is currently wired with a 220V European plug and accommodates a standard E26/E27 bulb.
Specified dimensions: Total Height including shade 62 cm / 24.4 in Base Height excluding shade 36 cm / 14.2 in Shade Diameter 25.5 cm / 10.0 in Base Diameter 15.5 cm / 6.1 in -
