Description
French Louis XVI period giltwood mirror circa 1790 with carved ribbon-tied liberal arts allegory, laurel leaves and pine cone motifs, painted background, slightly aged mirror and rustic character. Introducing a magnificent French Louis XVI period giltwood mirror, circa 1790, which gracefully melds elegance with rustic character, capturing the essence of its time. The mirror is adorned with an exquisite carved ribbon-tied allegory of the liberal arts, a symbol of knowledge and creativity that was highly celebrated during the period. This splendid design element is further enhanced by delicate laurel leaves that encircle the frame, providing a touch of natural beauty and charm.
The frame's beautifully aged giltwood finish, with its warm golden tones, seamlessly complements the painted background, creating a harmonious balance between sophistication and a sense of time-worn grace. The mirror itself, slightly aged and bearing the marks of its history, reflects not only the light but also the unique character of this exceptional piece. The lower section is carved with pinecone motifs.
As if taken from the walls of an opulent French château, this Louis XVI period giltwood mirror invites you to step back in time and immerse yourself in its rich history. Whether displayed in a grand entryway or an elegant living room, this stunning mirror is sure to captivate the eye and become a cherished focal point in any space. -
