Description
1950s Italian modernist shaped mirror with lacquered walnut frame and brass scroll decoration in the style of Gio Ponti. This exquisite mirror has a beautifully shaped wood frame with sharp rounded top corners and gently tapering sides, an elegant central top decorative brass scroll element, and a solid wood backing. The original mirrored plate shows some areas of foxing which illustrate its authentic age from the midcentury period. This chic sculptural mirror with its curvaceous form and playful decorative mount demonstrates the Italian Novecento design and style characteristic of this period.

In very good condition with light restoration done to walnut frame and rich patina on the brass. The original mirrored plate shows small scattered areas of foxing which illustrate its authentic age.
