THE HAZZARD FAMILY OVAL CHIPPENDALE LOOKING GLASS
English Circa 1775
Primary wood: Mahogany
Secondary wood: Spruce [By Microanalysis]
Height: 52 1/4 inches
Width: 20 1/2 inches
Provenance: Descended in the family of Robert [1703-1775] and Elizabeth Stanton Hazzard, Kingston, Rhode Island.
Reference: A similar oval mirror is in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and is illustrated in Marshall Davidson and Elizabeth Stillinger, The American Wing, page 177, figure 176.
