A Large Italian Mid-Century Modern Swivel Lounge Chair, C. 1960.

Offered by: 2220 Antiques

Description
A bold statement in Space Age luxury and materials, this robust lounge chair features an overstuffed, enveloping barrel backrest bridging beautifully sculptural, sweeping upholstered track arms. The entire frame and cushions are wrapped in a striking, deep crimson red dyed cowhide with a tactile, low-pile hair-on-hide texture. Delivering dramatic material contrast, the sculptural seat is elevated on a heavy, central polished chrome pedestal trumpet base equipped with a smooth 360-degree swivel mechanism.

• Thanks to its vibrant red hue and tactile cowhide upholstery, this swivel chair functions beautifully as a standalone conversation piece. Pair it alongside a low-profile leather sectional sofa or place it adjacent to a minimalist travertine coffee table to introduce an organic, mid-century Italian pop of color.
