Description
A classic and chic pair of club/lounge chairs from the Bastiano series, designed by the iconic Italian designer duo Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Gavina, Italy, circa 1960. The chairs have a solid rosewood frame and are newly upholstered with a cream cotton fabric. The rosewood structure is in excellent original condition. Loose seat and back cushions cover the steel and elastic straps underside supports. The Italian maker, Gavina was the first one to produce this sofa, in the early 1960's, later production was taken over by Knoll who purchased Gavina in the late 1960's. This sofa is from the first production and is considered the highest quality and construction.
