A French oak workbench from the 19th Century feels sturdy in its squared-off design yet light in its openness. The top is made from a single plank of oak, which measures 2 ¾” thick, and it is punctuated with stunning reminders of its utilitarian function; moments of scoring, staining and drilling across the patinated surface. With its simplistic, rectilinear design, this piece can be used for a range of purposes. Its height of 33 ½” suits it for use as a work surface or kitchen island. Its narrow width suits it for use as a hallway table. Regardless of its function, this table would be a unique addition to any space. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
