Description
This exceptionally rare wingback chair was designed by Gio Ponti and produced in Italy in 1929. The elegant model was part of the furniture designed by Ponti for the Casa Giampiccoli in Turin around 1927. The generous dimensions make this a very comfortable chair. The armrests and legs are in solid cherry wood. The chair has been reupholstered in an ivory mélange fabric by Nobilis Paris. With its mixture of threads of different thicknesses and varied colours, this refined fabric has a tweed spirit and an interesting texture.
The chair is accompanied by a signed certificate from the Gio Ponti Archives -
