This rare pair of armchairs was designed by Giulia Veronesi and produced by ISA Bergamo, Italy, in the early 1950s. The model, known as Perla, is considered one of the iconic chair designs of the Italian Modern era. As shown in the images, a matching loveseat is also available.
The armchair’s sensual curves and elegantly tapered legs give it a sculptural, modern presence. This striking pair has been fully restored and newly upholstered in a sumptuous olive-green velvet by Dedar. The fabric features a distinctive watered effect and a deep, luminous tone.
Both chairs have undergone complete restoration: the legs have been refinished, the entire interior upholstery reconditioned and renewed, and the fully sprung interiors ensure exceptional seating comfort.

Additional note: In ISA’s Domus advertisement, the Perla model was credited to “G. Veronesi.” It was long assumed that this referred to Guglielmo Veronesi. However, recent research has confirmed that the true designer was Giulia Veronesi.
