Description
This ceramic table lamp was designed by Ingrid Atterberg and produced by Upsala Ekeby in Sweden during the 1950s. Known as the Spiral model, the lamp retains its original Upsala Ekeby label and is further marked with the model number 2049 on the underside.
The design combines an elegant elongated form with a distinctive hand-painted spiral decoration in white and warm ochre against a taupe-colored ground. The decoration wraps around the body in a continuous movement, accentuating the shape of the lamp. The lamp is fitted with a tall custom-made shade in an ivory Métaphores fabric.
The lamp is in good condition with renewed 220V wiring, a renewed E26/E27 bulb fitting, and a new custom-made shade. The ceramic base remains well preserved, showing only minor wear consistent with age and use.
