Description
A refined study in proportion and restraint, this set of six dining chairs reflects the quiet confidence of post-war Italian design. The silhouette is light yet assured, shaped by a careful balance between structure and movement.
Design
Each chair is crafted in solid walnut wood, finished in a warm tone that has matured gently over time. The frame is defined by tapering legs and a subtly curved seat rail, lending a sense of lift. Most distinctive is the backrest: a sculptural composition of slender uprights that converge into a softly contoured crest. This detail recalls the design language associated with Ico Parisi, where architecture and furniture intersect through rhythm and line.
The open back creates visual transparency, allowing the chairs to sit comfortably within both intimate and larger interiors. Seats are upholstered in a muted blue fabric, offering a restrained contrast to the timber and introducing a tactile softness. The proportions suggest an intention for prolonged dining, with a supportive yet unobtrusive posture.
A cohesive set that brings clarity and elegance to a dining setting, these chairs resonate with the Italian modernist pursuit of lightness and precision in everyday objects.
Condition
The condition is good, with visible wear consistent with age. Upholstery shows signs of use and may benefit from renewal depending on preference. We can assist with re-upholstery.
We also have the matching table available. -
