Description
This striking pair of lounge/slipper chairs was produced in Denmark in the 1950s.
The design is defined by its dynamic, angular oak frame, with sharply canted legs and diagonal stretchers forming a strong architectural silhouette. The low profile and open construction exemplify the clarity and craftsmanship characteristic of Danish 1950s design.
Crafted in solid oak, the frames have been stained to a warm tone and display a natural, even patina. The balance of clean lines and warm materials is rooted in Scandinavian modern design, with an understated warmth that recalls the relaxed character of chalet interiors.
The loose seat and back cushions have been fully renewed and newly upholstered in a refined striped and textured jacquard fabric by Métaphores Paris. Subtle abstract lines in soft sand and white tones introduce depth and tactility without overpowering the form of the chairs.
Both chairs are in very good condition, with well-preserved wooden frames and newly reupholstered cushions. -
