20th Century Art Nouveau Armchair with Vienesse Mesh by Mundus, AT circa 1906
-
Description
Outstanding, early 20th century bentwood armchair artfully crafted by the renowed company of Mundus around 1906. A rare, absolute timeless designed masterpiece from the famous Art Nouveau period in Austria. This exceptional shaped armchair was made of fine bentwood (= beechwood that has been bent with the use of hot steam under high pressure) and has been trimmed to an appealing dark mahogany tone. The so-called "vienesse mesh" seating surface has been reupholstered during the restoration process and just looks amazing. Marked on the inside of the frame with the renown MUNDUS paper sign.
