Description
Iconic mid-century modern Clairtone Project G2 stereo system, one of the most recognizable audio designs of the 20th century, celebrated for its sculptural presence and architectural form. Designed in 1966 by Al Faux, the G2 embodies the intersection of high design and high fidelity, with its dramatic floating rosewood cabinet and unparalleled speakers.
This example retains all original components, including the amplifier, turntable, and tuner, and is accompanied by the original warranty card and instruction manual—a rarity that underscores its careful preservation.
The rosewood cabinet has been cosmetically refinished to the highest possible standard, showcasing exceptional grain and depth, while maintaining the integrity of the original design. All electronic components have been professionally serviced and calibrated by an audio engineer, ensuring proper performance and functionality.
The sculptural black spherical speakers, mounted at each end, remain one of the most distinctive elements of the design—both visually striking and acoustically purposeful. Complete, sorted examples of this caliber are increasingly scarce, particularly those combining original documentation, fully serviced electronics, and such a high level of cosmetic presentation.
A museum-quality example of one of the most important and visually compelling stereo systems of the modern era.
An additional rare feature of this example is the inclusion of a factory-ordered pair of smaller satellite speaker orbs, designed to complement the integrated system and enhance the overall sound with greater depth and dimensionality.
We have serviced and sold about 20 Clairtone Project G units in varying iterations over the last 3 decades to museums, collectors and A-List celebrities. This example certainly rates within the top 3 best systems we have ever handled. Acquired directly from the original owners in Canada. -
