French 19th Century Louis Philippe Enfilade
-
Description
Dimensions: 38 ¾” H x 72 ¼” W x 23 ¼” D
An engaging 19th Century Louis Philippe style fruitwood enfilade with a variety of figural grain patterns and luminous wood tones across the case. The top planks have a soft texture that complements the honey-gold color, bearing the evidence of two centuries of patina. Within the frieze is a bank of three drawers using brass knobs, punctuated by a decorative shield escutcheon between the second and third drawers. Below the drawers is a series of three, paneled doors that represent a (divided) storage cabinet behind the locking doors with one key shared between them, tied to a gold tassel. The left and center doors enclose the wide compartment with a fixed shelf, 45 ¾” W x 17 ½” D, while the right side shelf measures 22 ¾” x 17 ½” D. Shaped bracket feet support the whole. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, this antique buffet is sure to anchor any room and will fit many interior design aesthetics. Please view the detailed images to see more. -
