Description
Dimensions: 42 ½” H x 72 ⅝” W x 28” D
An impressive French Empire buffet made of figured walnut in a rich auburn hue that coordinates with the dark marble top surface for a classic look. The stone shows pockets of dark gray and greige marbleization under a dense web of veining. Please note there are some surface scratches on the marble. Below are two drawers showing evidence of once having hardware but now open by pulling from the underside of the drawer front. The two cabinet doors are flanked by handsome, turned and polished columns with implied capitals and raised on massive posts at the floor. Each door uses a turned wood knob to open, escutcheons and locks are now only decorative as the doors hook onto the shelf inside. When open, the doors reveal two fixed shelves spanning the width of the interior offering abundant space for storage. Make sure to view all the images to see the wonderful details and antique condition of this handsome Empire case piece.
Upper shelf: 9 ⅛” D
Lower shelf: 19 ⅜” D -
