Description
This striking cabinet was designed and produced by Ulf Ekdahl in Nybro, Sweden in 1979. The design is marked by the double doors, each panelled with eight squares with a centred, carved decoration. This creates a refined, geometric effect on the front side. The same decoration is repeated with 10 identical squares on both the left and right side of the cabinet.Below the double doors, a single pull out shelf with double brass knobs., followed by two individual drawers. The piece is completely made of solid pine wood, of which the distinctive grain adds to the visual appeal of the overall design. The beautifully crafted interior has four individual drawers and two small compartments with a door, all with brass knobs. Decorative wood carving in the centre, indicating the year of manufacture 1979. The modest size of the cabinet combined with the multifunctional interior, drawers and shelf makes it a very versatile piece. It could function well in a variety of rooms. The piece is in very good original condition. Stamped on the back with U.B. Ekdahl Nybro, marked on the front with a small bronze metal plate Ulf Ekdahl. Interior with the manufacture year carved.
