The surface of this French 19th-century bistro table is a unique combination of rustic material and elegant Belle Epoch style. The wooden top consists of four oak planks, which are delightfully textured and patinated. Across the surface are a range of textures, from smooth to notched to crackled, and each one tells a different part of the story behind the table’s long life. Its trestle frame is made of sturdy cast iron, and it is perfectly suited for bench or banquette seating. Small square pegs can be seen inserted in areas of loss or damage in the wood surface, and these honest repairs add a rustic touch to the metropolitan feeling of the bistro table. The wood has been cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors.
