Description
Guy Lefevre Pair of Side Tables in Verre Églomisé and Patinated Metal for Maison Jansen, France, 1970s.
This is a stunning pair of side tables in ‘verre églomisé’ and metal by Guy Lefevre (1933-2018) for Maison Jansen Paris.
These are all about the magnificent gold top with hand applied gold leaf at the underside of the glass - painting the back of a glass plate or mirror is a technique used for centuries called ‘verre églomisé’. It was rediscovered in the art deco era where both artists, designers and architects used it to create elegant art pieces and interiors. Mesmerizingly beautiful and very elegant.
The frames in patinated metal are simple yet very stylish and feature a subtle floating effect.
The set comes in a very good vintage condition with only slight wear. -
