Description
This beautiful item is an absolute eye-catcher from the 1970s and is entirely in the style of Marie-Claude de Fouquières. Typical for her designs was the use of resin. Her husband was a leading industrialist in plastics and the frustration of not having a resin piece of furniture led her to experiment and design with the material herself. She has made a variety of thick-colored polyester furniture such as tables, lamps, and desks. This specific coffee table is striking and a real feast for the eyes. Thick amber-colored resin blocks serve as legs and can be moved separately from each other and the glass top is loose. The chemical reaction when processing the resin creates an incredibly spectacular spectacle. The light shines through the reflection within the so-called cracks in the blocks. Shadow and light alternate in rapid succession. As a result, your attention is completely drawn to this table when you enter the room in which it is situated. The combination with the green-blue edge of the glass is sublime. The condition is excellent and the resin only has some superficial scratches, but this is only visible up close.
