Description
Created by Tiffany & Co. circa 1975-1976, and featured in the firm's beloved Blue Book, this modernist bracelet and ring are composed of 18K gold, platinum over four-and-a-half carats of diamonds. The vertically-incised, bombé hinged cuff bracelet and ring center staggered pavé-set fields of round brilliant-cut diamonds that are embedded flush to the curved surface. Rare to find preserved as a set, this late mid-century Tiffany & Co. suite is work of balanced, streamlined design and intriguing visual rhythms.

Materials: Bracelet: 87 round brilliant-cut diamonds (approximate total weight 3.48 carats); Ring: 29 round brilliant-cut diamonds (approximate total weight 1.16 carats); 18K Gold; Platinum

The Tiffany jewelry design studios in this period were a hub of creativity and competition. Walter Hoving, Van Day Truex, and Harry Platt had successfully rebuilt the firm's aesthetic and reputation after its decline in the 1930s and 1940s. While Jean Schlumberger remained Tiffany's most celebrated designer, young creatives like Donald Claflin and his protegée Angela Cummings, Aldo Cipullo of later "Love Bracelet" fame, and the designer/top model Elsa Peretti vied for prominence there in the 1970s, all producing memorable and important work. -
