Description
Exceptional vintage sterling silver necklace and matching earring set designed by Emilia Castillo and handcrafted in Taxco, Mexico—one of the most celebrated centers of Mexican silversmithing and modern design. This sculptural suite features a continuous series of openwork Monstera leaf links, a signature organic motif that reflects Castillo’s nature-inspired aesthetic and refined craftsmanship.
The necklace presents a bold yet elegant silhouette, with each articulated leaf creating fluid movement and visual rhythm around the neckline. The matching clip-on earrings echo the same Monstera form, completing a cohesive and highly desirable set suited for both wear and curated display.
The necklace retains the hallmark:
“Emilia Castillo, Mexico, M.R., TO-85, 950” — indicating high silver content and authentic Taxco origin. The earrings are unsigned, though consistent in design, craftsmanship, and scale with the necklace.
Highly sought after by collectors of Mexican Modernism and designers specifying statement jewelry for interiors, this set offers both sculptural presence and cultural significance. Ideal for styling on dressing tables, within curated vignettes, or as part of a fine jewelry collection.
Measurements:
Necklace: 18.50 inches L x 1 inch W (46.99 cm x 2.54 cm)
Earrings: 0.875 inches H x 0.75 inches W (2.22 cm x 1.91 cm)
Condition:
Good vintage condition with visible patina, light oxidation, and surface wear consistent with age. Earrings are clip-on style and function as intended.
A rare and elegant Emilia Castillo set—embodying the legacy of Taxco silver and timeless organic design. -
