Fanciful and fun, this 19th century French Louis XVI- style oval gold gilt mirror boasts intricate, carved details from top to bottom. A carved bouquet of flowers and vines crowns the brilliant mirror, with exceptional ribbon details. The original mercury glass contains wonderful sparkles and foxing, and is surrounded by the lusterous gold gilt frame which is embellished with beaded pearl and stylized twisted ribbon/acanthus leaf-motif carvings. The gold gilt is in excellent antique condition with a brilliant metallic luster.
