Dòry is a Linear Italian Chandelier designed by Silvio Mondino Studio for Contemporary Interiors. Combining Machined Brass, Hand-Blown Glass, and Concealed LED Lighting, its distinctive form brings together Architectural Geometry, Traditional Italian Craftsmanship, and a warm, atmospheric quality of light.

Designed as both a lighting fixture and a sculptural element, Dòry is particularly suited to interiors where lighting plays an active role in defining the character of a space.

Its restrained geometry allows it to sit naturally within Contemporary, Mid-Century Modern, and Organic Modern interiors while maintaining a distinctive visual presence.

The design is distilled to two principal materials: Brass and Hand-Blown Glass.

The Brass structure is precisely machined and finished by hand, giving its minimal geometry subtle depth and tactile character. At its center, the light sources are concealed within the Brass rod and emitted through a series of Hand-Blown Glass spheres.

Each glass sphere is individually blown in Vicenza, Italy, using traditional techniques and without the use of molds. The result is a collection of beautifully rounded globes, each subtly different from the next. These variations are an essential part of Dòry's character, giving the chandelier an organic presence and ensuring that every piece has its own individuality.

The concealed light interacts with each sphere differently, reflecting and diffusing through the glass to create a warm, nuanced illumination. As the viewer moves around the space, the reflections shift, giving Dòry a constantly changing relationship with its surroundings.

The central Brass rod tapers toward both ends, recalling the form of a spear. Two trapezoidal Brass elements flank the glass spheres, creating a sense of tension and controlled movement, as if the structure were gently holding and shaping the glass.

This tension is at the heart of Dòry's identity: powerful yet weightless, architectural yet organic, dynamic yet poised.

The name Dòry refers to the ancient Greek dory, a spear associated with strength, precision, and movement. In the chandelier, that reference becomes an abstract architectural gesture: a form seemingly suspended at the precise moment of flight.
