French 17th Century Solid Oak Extending Dining Table
-
Description
A robust, solid oak extending dining table hand-crafted in 17th century France circa 1680. Gnarled knots, beautiful grain, and an incredible range of textures give the thick tabletop its abundant character. The decorative hand-carved apron features repeating, recessed fluted carvings framed by scalloped trim. Four substantial legs support the massive top which has two leaves on either side that slide 10 ¾ inches on either side giving the table a total depth of 51 ⅝”. Massive turned baluster legs are joined by a low stretcher that not only braces the table, ensuring its stability, but also provides an additional noticeable design feature. This table will add a rich and bold statement to any room and its great craftsmanship ensures that it can be used for another 300 years. Be sure to view all the images for a closer look.
