Chinese Jichimu Console Table. Vintage Jichimu Wood Console Table, solid Jichimu ( Ormosia wood species indigenous to Hainan Island, Fujian China). Jichimu translated is "Chicken wing wood" this name is for the woods brown and gray patterns when cut tangentially that resemble the patterns of bird feathers. A beautiful and specail table showcasing the best of Chinese master carpenters craftsmanship. This elegant tables clean lines accentuating the woods grain of flowing patterns. Soft radius corners, perfectly cylindrical round legs, classical hump back stretchers, sculpted spandrels, all come together elegantly with a light and somewhat slightly minimalistic aesthetic. A rosewood burl used to complete the single drawer facer adds a nice signature detail. Very specail hard to find collectable rare wood table. Jichimu wood is considered a rare wood.
