French 19th Century Mahogany Empire Buffet

Description
A French Empire buffet made of rich flame bookmatched mahogany is classic in style. The original marble top of charcoal with white veining sits at the top of this buffet and is removable. Below is a single wide drawer decorated with a burl bookmatched mahogany veneer. The doors are flanked by handsome, turned and polished columns capped with gilt bronze ormolu at the top and bottom. When open, the doors expose two fixed shelves with abundant space for storage. Floral gilt bronze escutcheon plates adorn both doors, the lock is in working condition and has one key. The whole, rests on a plinth base. Make sure to view all the images to see the wonderful details and antique condition of this handsome Empire case piece.
