Description
This very rare desk/table lamp was produced by Stilnovo in Italy in the mid 1950s.
The striking design is defined by the elongated diabolo shaped shade. The steel shades that have been coated with lacquer in striking red and black hues, separated by a substantial brass band. The shade can be adjusted into different positions. The base, crafted from solid brass, showcases two gracefully arched legs that gently curve outward and rise slightly above the surface. The central stem is also adjustable and positioned at an angle, ingeniously creating a beautiful graphic line. The refined, well balanced design and the craftsmanship in the execution make this a great example of the Italian Modern lighting era.
The lamp is in a very good, completely original condition. The brass with a naturally developed, even patina. The shades in original lacquer with minimal wear consistent with age and use. -
