Olavi Hänninen, Unique Experimental Chairs Gallo & Gallina 'Cock and Hen', 1985
-
Description
These unique neo funk chairs Gallo and Gallina or "Rooster and Chicken" are designed by Finnish designer and interior architect Olavi Hänninen (1920-1992). Postmodern design influenced interior design in the 1970s till 1990s and landed in the 1980s in Finland. The design of the chairs screams form over function. The bold colour scheme of the chairs black, white, yellow and red are characteristic of that style period. These whimsical chairs were on display at the Habitare trade fair in Helsinki in 1983 at the stand of Sisustusarkkitehdit SIO. Normal signs or wear and use. Some stains on the surface.
Gallina dimensions width 48cm, seat height 44cm, height 74cm.
