Mosuo Ojima Monumental 1980s Postmodern Pottery Urn
Offered for sale is a very large scale lidded pottery urn which is a striking example of Japanese Post-Modern art from Mosuo Ojima.
Ojima is a contemporary Japanese artist known for his distinctive ceramic pottery that blends traditional techniques with modern sculptural forms. His work is characterized by its unique glaze treatments, often featuring crackle effects as well as textured elements and striking shapes. Ojima’s art has been exhibited internationally in institutions such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Ojima's style is influenced by a blend of Eastern and Western cultures, traditional and modern art forms, and is rooted in his Japanese heritage and experience in the California art scene. The urn is signed by the artist on the base.
