Attributed to Carlo Hauner Rosewood, Glass and Steel Side Table

Attributed to Carlo Hauner (1927–1997), this rare side table from 1950s Brazil reflects the material clarity and architectural precision central to Brazilian mid-century modern design.

The rectangular form pairs richly figured jacarandá rosewood with a slender black-painted steel frame, a glass element, and delicate brass-capped feet. Two integrated drawers provide discreet storage, while the open wirework shelf below introduces lightness and transparency. This measured contrast between the substantial rosewood case and the linear metal structure gives the table its distinctive visual balance.

The expressive grain and warm tonal depth of the rosewood bring organic richness to the disciplined geometry of the frame. Compact yet highly functional, the piece works beautifully as a bedside table, end table, or occasional table within both modern and contemporary interiors.
