Description
Dimensions: 33 ⅜” H x 46 ¾” W x 1 ¾” D
A lovely 18th-century framed French still life painting dripping with Rococo style was once above a large mirror making a trumeau. It most likely was taken from a room surrounded in bosserie paneling. The painting shows a landscape scene of a lake or river with a figure seated under a tree in the foreground and mountains in the distance. Soft, pastel tones are a hallmark of Rococo painting, and they are on beautiful display in this piece. Surrounding the painting is a stunning giltwood frame that has been intricately carved with acanthus leaves and floral motifs. The painting and its frame once comprised the upper panel of a large 18th-century trumeau mirror, and now they’re ready for a new life as a standalone art piece for your home. The canvas is in good condition with no signs of tearing or warping, and the paint shows no signs of damage or flaking. This painting is the perfect addition to any space in need of a bit of softness and grandeur. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the full condition or reach out with any questions. - More Information
