Le Corbusier

Swiss, 1887 - 1965
Le Corbusier was born in Switzerland as Charles-Édouard Jeanneret and was Swiss-French designer and architect considered a pioneer for what is now considered modern architecture. In 1908, Le Corbusier worked with Auguste Perret in Paris and Peter Behrens in Berlin. Upon returning to Paris he met post-Cubist Amédée Ozenfant. In 1920 he adopted the pseudoynm Le Corbusier.
Le Courbusier's style combined a love of Greek classicism and a demand for a modern functional design. Some of his famous works include the LC4 Chaise and the LC2 and LC3 seating collections.
