Serge Mouille

French, 1922 - 1988
Serge Mouille was born and raised in Paris and attended the École des Arts Appliqués-where he studied metallurgy and graduated in silversmithing. He worked in the workshop of Gabriel Lacroix before opening his own shop in 1945. In the early 1950s, Mouille began designing light fixtures. In the mid 1950s, Steph Simon opened a Paris design gallery and displayed the work of Charlotte Perriand, Jean Prouve, Isamu Noguchi, Jean Luce along with Mouille. Due to illness, Mouille stopped designing but his highly functional Serge Mouille lamps remain popular today.
