Silvio Coppola

Italian
Silvio Coppola (1920–1985) was an Italian architect, designer and graphic communications pioneer whose furniture and industrial designs left a notable mark on the mid‑century modern movement. Educated at the Politecnico di Milano, Coppola worked across architecture, exhibition design and visual communication before turning his creative attention to furniture for Italian manufacturers like Bernini, Montina and Cassina. His furniture pieces are characterised by clean lines, sculptural wooden forms (especially walnut), subtle detail work and a blend of modernist architecture with warm materiality. Coppola’s designs combined functionality with aesthetic restraint and have since become sought‑after by collectors of Italian vintage design.
