Description
A square Ottoman Empire Iznik tile, the fritware body decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and turquoise on a white ground with a central calligraphic panel inscribed with the ‘Alhamdulillah‘ meaning ‘Praise be to Allah’ on a ground of winged palmettes and split lotus flowerheads. Turkish, 17th century.
