Description
A Chris Lebeau Unica glass vase, circa 1926, formerly in the Meentwijck Collection.
The vase combines a rounded, vertically ribbed body with a short, gently flared neck. Its translucent black glass gives it a strong sculptural presence, enriched by irregular fragments of fused coloured glass. These details create a richly varied visual texture, contrasting with the composed outline of the vessel.
In reflected light, the body appears almost opaque; transmitted light reveals its translucency and the complexity of its decoration. The interplay between the dark glass, scattered inclusions and vertical rhythm rewards close inspection and thoughtful lighting.
Acquired by Laseur Antique from the Meentwijck Collection, this vase comes from the same collection. Its collection provenance adds a meaningful history to an expressive work for collectors of Chris Lebeau and Art Deco art glass. -
