De Vier Paddenstoelen Art Deco Vases, J. van Ham, circa 1925

Price Upon Request
  • Description
Two Dutch Art Deco glazed earthenware vases by De Vier Paddenstoelen, J. van Ham, Utrecht, circa 1925.

These complementary vases combine generous rounded bodies with short, dark glazed rims and distinctive geometric decoration. Their curved silhouettes are articulated by horizontal bands, angular lines and contrasting fields of colour, giving each vessel a clear architectural rhythm.

One vase features vivid orange accents framed by charcoal outlines against a softly varied grey ground. Its companion offers a quieter arrangement of horizontal bands and muted tones. Displayed together, they create a considered dialogue between colour, line and volume.

The contrast between the rounded pottery forms and their graphic ornament gives the vases a strong decorative presence. Their restrained silhouettes suit both a collection of Dutch Art Deco pottery and a contemporary interior, where the orange accents can provide a focused point of colour.
