Description
A Leerdam Unica glass dish by A.D. Copier, circa 1926, formerly in the Meentwijck Collection.
The shallow circular dish combines vivid light Green glass with a finely patterned black craquelé decoration. Its restrained profile draws attention to the interplay of colour, light and surface, while the darker centre anchors the composition.
Andries Dirk Copier (1901–1991) played a central role in twentieth-century Dutch glass design. Working with the glassmakers at Glasfabriek Leerdam, he developed experimental works known as Leerdam Unica, exploring the expressive possibilities of glass beyond standard production.
This dish comes from the Meentwijck Collection, the private collection of Dutch decorative arts documented. -
