Description
Marble fish sculpture by Dutch artist Barend Jordens, composed of stylised fish gathered above an undulating wave base.
The overlapping forms create a compact, rhythmic composition. Rounded bodies contrast with the sharper definition of fins and tails, while carved eyes and gently outlined mouths give each fish an individual character. Natural veining runs through the pale marble, adding depth and variation to the polished surface.
The relationship between the fish and the flowing base gives the sculpture a sense of movement within its solid form. At 47 cm wide, it offers a distinctive focal point for a console, substantial shelf or dedicated pedestal. -
