  • Description
    This extremely desirable east Caucasian finely woven piece, better for the wall, has a light straw-yellow ground with rows of reversing botehs continuing into the spandrels, under and alongside the ivory niche arch. The botehs are striped or color latticed. Ivory border of grape bunches or "parrots" on an angular vine. Wool warp. Original short clipped pile. Marasali prayer rugs with yellow grounds are even rarer than those with blue-black fields. Good, collectible condition.
