Description
The relatively brief Ferahan-Sarouk period, roughly 1880 to 1910 saw a transition from Ferahans woven for the domestic market to more solidly constructed pieces destined for export. This very good condition west Persian village scatter shows a navy medallion with wavy lobes perfectly fitted to an ecru ground displaying undulating split vines and a variety of rosettes and palmettes. En suite corners with oblique crested birds. Navy reversing turtle border steps back from the bold field pattern. Leathery handle, good condition.
