Better woven than a contemporaneous Oushak this roomsize piece from near Istanbul shows an abrashed teal field with an allover barbed sickle leaf palmette rounded cruciform vinery forked arabesque leaf and open acanthus diamonds pattern accented in cream brick straw pale green and pale gold. Light straw-gold border with ragged and petal palmettes. Well-woven on cotton. Shortish brisk pile. Good condition.
